Programme Manager – Abundance® Yoga/Pilates
Abundance® is devoted to offering the best yoga experience possible in a fitness club setting with restful waiting areas, inspired programming, never-ending education and an energising community.
The purpose of the Programme Manager’s position is to evolve and oversee the Mind/Body studio programme vision, and to create and execute revenue programmes in their assigned studio.
Abundance® is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cityfitness Holdings, but is run as an autonomous business unit and brand, so you will be building the Abundance® Mind/Body Studio business and brand in New Zealand.
In this role you will:
- achieve monthly membership goals and monthly headcount goals in all classes;
- oversee the strategic vision for the Abundance® programme including instructor list, class type, style and level mix;
- develop and execute ancillary revenue programmes including workshops, events and teacher trainings to meet budget expectations;
- develop and maintain relationships with teacher training partners, presenters, and local mind/body talent;
- identify and develop new mind/body trends and position Abundance® as the preeminent leader for these classes;
- maintain a steady team of teachers with no one teacher comprising more than 25% of the timetable;
- hire all instructors with an emphasis on creating a world-class yoga community;
- manage monthly Mind/Body studio instructor meetings as an effective communication, problem-solving, and educational tool;
- adhere to and implement company policies and procedures including performance management and discipline;
- keep current in knowledge of key competitors including programming, instructors, public relations, etc;
- work with the cityfitness marketing team to develop a strategic marketing plan for the studio on a quarterly basis;
- establish standards for all yoga instructors and programming;
- nurture the relationship between instructors and the various disciplines offered in the studio;
- deliver yoga or Pilates classes and programmes to students; and
- handle other tasks as the position may require.
To apply for this role you must:
- have three to five years of managerial and/or sales experience with proven leadership ability in an educational, fitness, mind/body or professional setting;
- understand financial analysis and budgets;
- have a proven ability to hire, direct, coach, train and evaluate staff;
- have excellent time management, organisational and follow-up skills;
- posses excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- be able to utilise new techniques, ideas and problem-solving skills;
- possess honesty and personal integrity;
- be enthusiastic, energetic and personable;
- be passionate and knowledgeable about the fitness industry;
- be ambitious and driven;
- be computer literate;
- be at the studio when member usage is at the highest level including occasional evenings and weekends;
- have experience in teaching, or a desire to learn to teach, yoga or Pilates; and
- be CPR and First Aid certified.
