Moorhouse update March 2012

We’ve included some images to give you an idea of where things are at and you can probably appreciate there is still much to do.
Amongst other things, we have removed all of the equipment from the gym floor and are currently storing it on the car park level. To get the equipment downstairs we cut a hole around 2.5 m2 in size and lowered all the gear down through it. You may also be interested to know that most of the floor on the Colombo Street side of the access ramp is covered with equipment and building material that is being reused.
Our contractor; Naylor Love, is also using the hole in the floor for removing demolition material. Most of the internal walls in the gym have been removed and in some cases these walls will be rebuilt but we are also looking at ways to open up the gym floor space to provide more open-plan areas which will create a modern, spacious environment to workout in.
A milestone was reached last week as the first internal wall reinstatement started. Layout plans are still being finalised but a feature of the new layout will be a separate boxing room with adjacent boxing ring!
Up until this point there hasn’t been too much to report and because our re-opening date has been a moving target we haven’t been able to provide you with too much in the way of ongoing updates. Thankfully, now we can begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel we will keep you posted on a regular basis around each stage of development.
In the meantime, take care, wrap up warm now that Autumn is here and we will be in touch soon.
